Municipal Politics: Pitt Meadows Council Unanimously Support Living Wage Policy Being Referred To Staff

By on June 22, 2016

By David Murray. Last night at Pitt Meadows City Council, the motion to refer the Living Wage Policy to staff for how it will impact the City of Pitt Meadows was unanimously supported by City Council.

Back in 2012 it was supported 6-1 to go to staff and the policy was narrowly defeated 4-3. In 2016 with New Westminster already adopting the policy and the City of Port Coquitam, Vancouver and Quesnel soon to adopt the policy as well , the number is growing. Pitt Meadows would be the 5th City in Canada if adopting and accepting the Living Wage Policy.
