Here is my statement in response to the transit referendum results as the Federal NDP candidate for Pitt Meadows Maple Ridge:

“The transit mess in our region is a direct result of neglect from the federal and provincial governments. Our region needs a federal partner for transit and infrastructure. Tom Mulcair and the NDP have outlined a Better Transit Plan that will work with local government to invest in the priorities that will improve transit and reduce traffic congestion.

“People in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows are spending way too much time stuck in traffic jams. We need a government that will show leadership and help people get to and from work more easily.”
